Today I am covering my staple make up products for an everyday casual look. I tend to wear minimal make up on a normal day so it only usually take’s me about 20 minutes to get ready. Most of this time is spent on my eyebrows. If your brow game is strong you don’t need too much more.
so until recently, I’m talking the last month or so, I have been a loyal user of the Bare Minerals original looser power foundation for about 4 or 5 years. I will always be a fan of this product, but recently I have been using Becca’s ultimate coverage liquid foundation. This is the first liquid foundation I have used in years! I’ve enjoyed the transition and the change in trying something new. I am eyeing up the new Fenty foundation though so that will most likely be my next investment.
Another Becca product I swear by, is the under eye brightening corrector. I tend to get dark circles so this just illuminates the under eye area, creating a good base to apply concealer and blend in. I am currently using Tarte’s maracuja creaseless concealer. A lot of people have a lot of love for this concealer but I find it to be slightly too thick and sticky. It’s great for an occasion where I bake and set, but for everyday it’s slightly too heavy. You can get around this by working it with a slightly wet beauty blender.
I wouldn’t think of doing a look and not including some highlight in there somewhere, I have a couple goodies but for a basic look – Mally’s my go to. They have discontinued the one I use but I have included their newest closest copy, you might need to do a bit of detective work if you’re looking from the UK.
My last staple product for an everyday look is my lippy. Strong brows can really do a lot for a look, but a good nude lipstick, for me, makes the look. Especially when I am wearing minimal make up, it brings it all together. I will usually go for a matte lipstick and my all time favourite is the Mally double ended sculpting pencil. Sorry to my UK babes I’ve added the american QVC site, again you might have to have a little search. Anyway I love the colour of this, there are two shades to choose from. Tip: use a lip balm as a base as it can be quite drying.
Now I love doing my brows, they make or break a look. But as off recently I have become tired of my brow products. ( If you guys have any fire recommendations be sure to let me know). I’m currently using the old equivalent to the Benefit brow zings kit. The Eyeko brow gel and a high street branded pencil which I can’t remember the name off. I use Eylures brow luminizer which double ups with a highlight and correcting end. The highlight is actually doing something *clicks fingers* I run this along my cupid’s bow and also under my brow to give that small sparkle.
I don’t usually wear mascara on a daily basis, but this is dependant on how I’m feeling and what I’m doing. The early rises during my final year at uni drastically altered and shortened my morning make up routine. Now that I’ve graduated I have adopted that aspect of the lazy routine; but I don’t mind it just means I can enjoy getting ready for special occasions a bit more.
And that is pretty much it for an everyday routine.. Don’t worry I do put a little more effort in for an evening look so I will follow this up with a post about that. In the meantime if you have any good product recommendations, share your glow up tips girls!
