Valentines Gift Guide for Him & Her [No matter how clichéd, I will always be a lover of the typical coffee shot; Rose latte at Notting Hill’s infamous Farm Girl Cafe] So valentines day is drawing closer, which means some of us will be looking for a thoughtful gift for our significant others. Whether you’ve hit a brick wall or just looking for a bit of inspiration; I’ve listed some of my favourite picks for this years best valentines gifts.

What is valentines without chocolate? Seeing as it’s a bit of an occasion I suppose we can add a dash of luxury with Charbonnels truffles. Bare in mind these chocolates are stocked in a number of retailers so if you have student/employee discount you might be able to put that to good use. There are a number of collections and flavours I have linked in their Sea Salt and Caramel Truffles, but they also have a specific valentines day collection you might like. They all come beautifully packaged and make for a lovely gift.

Lindt’s Pick & Mix selection is a great gift it you want to add your own touch. Lindt gives you the option to choose your flavours and the amount of chocolate depending on how much you want to pay. You can choose a bag from as little as £12 all the way up to a 1.5kg box for £45.

I’ve added House of Dorchester Carrot Cake Truffles to the list because for one they are carrot cake flavoured truffles. Whether they taste good is a whole different story but the idea is motivation enough. Secondly priced at £10 can you really go wrong. Even if they do taste nasty, keep them as display chocolates and offer them to guests (inserts upside down smiley)

I struggled with whittling down just one option for hotel chocolat because all their stuff is so classy and special looking. But for my him choice, I went with the Large Dipping Chocolate Adventure. I mean the name alone?! we can say it’s for our other half, but we know we are just as excited to eat this ourself. A bit pricier at £35 butttt the selection! Just take a look, let the link speak for itself.

Ok, so my first option which I can’t link as it’s an in-store only service, is Godiva’s chocolate coated strawberries. Just yes to everything about them. They are delicious, beautifully packages and will make any woman smile. Unless she doesn’t like strawberries..or chocolate. Then I can’t help you. But if she does, the best valentines gift.

At £10, The House of Dorchester Pink Prosecco Heart Truffle Box could be just the ticket. Like many of us if you are slightly strapped for cash after christmas this box delivers on the small thoughtful gesture front.

For a bit more, at £35, Hotel Chocolat’s True Love Hamper has a little bit of everything. Add a bit of extra excitement with chocolate, wine oh and a bit more chocolate.

Orrrr you can really push the boat out with these bad boys! Sex Bomb Brownies, I won’t even say you almost don’t want to eat them because I do. Pretzel’s, unicorn bark, glitter, macaroons how could you not? however what I won’t do is talk too much about the price tag. £45.

Charbonnel’s Pink Champagne Peacock Heart is down a peg at £30 but still keeps to the luxury vibe and is something a little more special than your every day chocolate box.

I have a couple of things to link for Rituals, the first being Life is a Journey car perfume. Most men love to smell good and love to love their ca,r what better then to combine them. As with any fragranced item’s your best bet is to go in-store and try them out for yourself and see what scent is best suited to the person or occasion. The second item is the Calming Ritual Set, now they have a few sets all with different purposes. I’ve linked the calming set – with the obvious aim to calm. At £29.50 it includes their amazing foaming shower gel, shower oil, body scrub and body cream.

Slightly lower in price at £26 is ESPA’s introductory collection for men. A collection of 4 men’s grooming products with great reviews and a great price.

With so much to choose from, The White Company is a great place to start if you want to go down the fragrance route. They have prices ranging from about £20 all the way up to £140. I’ve picked out the Four Seasons Votive Set. Set at £40 it is beautifully packaged and just a overall classic gift.

From Diptyque’s new collection, the limited edition Rose Delight. Diptyque’s small candles are usually priced at £24, as this is a limited edition with some cuuute packaging this will set you back £28. Some eyebrows may be raised but it’s Diptyque hunny * clicks fingers *.

For my peoples on a budget or saving your pennies this lovely L’Occitane Néroli and Lorchidée gift set is beautiful! Priced at £21 you cannot go wrong. You can choose to have complimentary gift wrapping at check out and bob’s your uncle you’re sorted.

I love next candle’s, it’s £6 and has ‘love’ written on it, I mean do I need to go on. If you are someone who likes to collect little gifts and make a care package or hamper, this would be a great addition.

I love this idea, 52 Date Night ideas. If you don’t want to pay the £24 price tag this could potentially be a DIY activity. If not you can grab this cute, professionally (hand) made gift from notonthehighstreet.

Another thoughtful touch is a copper wallet/purse photo card. A photo of your choice which could be a reminder of a memory you’ve had which comes in a labeled box and a personalised note.

You could transfer this idea and create a personalised leather key ring. This comes with free UK mainland delivery however international delivery is available. You can personalise with a photo and initials and will cost you £26.

My last suggestion, most typical but just as loved, is of course roses. Whether a single rose or bouquet, girls love a rose. If you want to make it extra special why not push the boat out with a 1 year bouquet. That’s right roses that last a year!

I hope this helps, and you all have a lovely valentines.
